This course will describe the ins and outs of working for a corporate law department, including the diversity of the tasks assigned to paralegals in this setting. A substantive overview will be given in connection with the exact duties of each paralegal in the corporate law department including litigation, corporate, privacy, patents, trademarks, compliance and contracts management.

Christine J. Garber is a senior paralegal at Allergan, Inc. in Irvine, California where she has been employed since 1990. She specializes in Litigation Record Retention and Compliance. She is a past president of the Orange County Paralegal Association and a past board member of the California Alliance of Paralegal Associations. She is an instructor for the University of California, Irvine Paralegal Program and is a member of their Advisory Committee. Chris is also a recipient of a 2005 NALA Affiliates Award and the 2005 Affiliated Associations Outstanding Contribution Award. Chris has a bachelor of arts degree from Pepperdine University, Malibu in Spanish.
