Lights, Camera, Action! Creating Digital Movies

This course is designed to show you how to create a movie with Windows Movie Maker* and what you can do with your finished product. Participants will first learn the basics: transferring video from a camera into Movie Maker, editing raw footage, adding titles and credits and using video effects and transitions. Then, more advanced techniques will be presented: adding background music, sound effects and still pictures to your movie and capturing a still picture from your video. Finally, participants will explore different potentials for digital movies, including, creating CDs of your continuing education seminars, and demonstrating how movie clips can bring an added dimension to your PowerPoint presentations. Come learn how Movie Maker can benefit both your paralegal association and your career!

* Using Windows XP (or newer). Participants must also print the handouts prior to the session.

Kristine M. Hill, CP, is a paralegal with the Escambia County Attorney’s Office, Pensacola, Florida. Her work involves researching the many areas of local government law, as well as monitoring software needs and capabilities and preparing graphic presentations for the Office. Previously, she worked with the U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Florida.

Kristine earned a B.A. in Sociology from Kent State University in Ohio and a B.A. in Legal Administration from the University of West Florida. Her varied background also includes graphic arts and data processing, which she enjoys incorporating into her paralegal career. She is Vice President of the Northwest Florida Paralegal Association (NWFPA) and is also its “videographer.” Previously, she has served as NWFPA’s Secretary and NALA Liaison.
