The National Association of Legal
Assistants is the nation's leading professional association for
paralegals and legal assistants. Established in 1975, NALA represents
over 19,000 paralegals through individual members and 90 state and local
affiliated associations.
Since its inception, NALA has provided
continuing education programs for paralegals. In addition to on-site

Instructors |
Virginia Koerselman, Attorney at Law, of Omaha, Nebraska,
developed the content and is principal author for NALA Campus.
Ms.
Koerselman, is a sole practitioner with emphasis in business
litigation, and is a frequent speaker at seminars and workshops. A
graduate of Creighton Law School, she has been an instructor in the
paralegal program at Metropolitan Community College, Omaha, Nebraska
since 1987 and has been the program director since 1990. She is well
known as the author of the CLA Review Manual and has written,
co-authored, and edited many paralegal texts, study guides, and
instructor manuals. She is the lead author of the NALA Campus
Course, having authored the material for the courses on the American
Legal System, Communications, Civil Litigation, Contract Law,
Judgment and Analytical Analysis, Legal Research and Real Estate.

Martin Frey,
Professor Emeritus at The University of Tulsa College of Law. Mr.
Frey earned a B.S.M.E. from Northwestern University, a J.D. from
Washington University (St. Louis) School of Law, and an LL.M. from
George Washington University. He is a member of the Oklahoma and
Missouri Bar Associations, a Senior Settlement Judge for the United
States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma, the
United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of
Oklahoma, and Master Emeritus in the W. Lee Johnson Inn of the
American Inns of Court. In addition to teaching at The University of
Tulsa, Professor Frey has taught at Drake University, Texas Tech
University, Washington University, The University of Maine, and The
University of Alabama. Professor Frey is listed in Who's Who in
America as well as in Who's Who in American Law. Professor Frey is
a co-author of Frey & Bitting, Introduction to Contracts and
Restitution for Paralegals (West 1st ed. 1988), Frey, Bitting &
Frey, Introduction to Contracts and Restitution for Paralegals (West
2d ed. 1993, 3d ed. 1999); Frey, McConnico & Frey, An Introduction
to Bankruptcy Law (West 1st ed. 1990, 2d ed. 1992, 3d ed. 1996);
Frey & Frey, Essentials of Contract Law (Delmar Publishers, West
Legal Studies 2001); Bucholtz, Tatus, and Frey, A Student’s Guide to
Law School Competitions (Carolina Academic Press 2001); and author
of Alternative Methods of Dispute Resolution (Delmar Publisher, West
Legal Studies 2002).

| Therese
A. Cannon is the author of the NALA Campus
Course on Legal Ethics. Ms. Cannon is the Educational Consultant to
the Standing Committee on Legal Assistants of the American Bar
Association. Ms. Cannon was a member of the Standing Committee on
Legal Assistants and chaired its Approval Commission prior to her
appointment as consultant in 1996. She also serves as Educational
Standards Consultant to the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State
Bar of California and as the Program Director and a Professor for
the Paralegal Studies and Legal Nurse Consultant Programs at San
Francisco State University College of Extended Learning. She is the
author of Ethics and Professional Responsibility for Legal
Assistants, now in its third edition, published by Aspen Law &
Business (formerly Little, Brown and Company) and has been teaching
paralegal ethics for more than 20 years. She is a past president of
the American Association for Paralegal Education and served on its
board for six years, including a term as president. She is a past
member of the Certifying Board of National Association of Legal
Assistants. Ms. Cannon is licensed to practice law in California. |

course is authored by Tulsa, Oklahoma attorney Molly V. McKay.
Molly D. McKay is a patent attorney, licensed to practice in
Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas. She is also licensed to practice
before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Ms. McKay is a native
of Missouri. She received her B.S. Degree from Southwest Baptist
University in Bolivar, Missouri, graduating summa cum laude. Ms.
McKay has worked in a petroleum refinery as a chemist, and she has
worked as an environmental specialist and a business planning and
analysis specialist for the local electric utility company, Public
Service Company of Oklahoma. She received her JD Degree
from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1990. |
